Álvaro Planchuelo-Gómez, PhD

Álvaro Planchuelo Gómez, PhD in Telecommunications and Information Technology Engineering at the Universidad de Valladolid, Spain, since June 2021. He received his BSc in Biomedical Engineering (Biomedical Imaging specialization) with a Special Mention in 2016 from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain. He received his MSc in Biostatistics in 2017 from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Planchuelo is currently working at the Laboratorio de Procesado de Imagen (LPI). His research is focused on brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), particularly in structural T1-weighted MRI, diffusion MRI and resting state functional MRI, to analyse differences between episodic and chronic migraine patients and healthy controls. Besides, he is also studying psychosis biotypes based on MRI neuroanatomical alterations, evaluation of new diffusion descriptors and headache attributed to COVID-19 infection.
